Thank you to all our members and supporters for your hard work and assistance during the 2008 State Election last Saturday. We put in a strong showing and in some seats our primary vote has increased to over 7%, which is outstanding. So Thank you for that.

As counting continues, we are still watching closely to obtain the final results. But it is very clear that after 8 years of Labour, Voters have moved their support back towards the conservative side of politics. It is also clear that the rural voters have sent a strong message that country issues cannot be ignored, regardless of how the boundaries are drawn.

While it would appear that Family First has not been successful in winning any lower house seats at this election, we believe we are still within fighting distance in the Upper House in at least two regions. In both the Agricultural Region and in the South West Region we are in a very close race with for the 6th seat. Hopefully by early in the week we should know the final outcome for these and other regions. However, where the results are particularly close it may take a while longer until all the votes can be counted and scrutinised fully.

If you would like to follow all the seat by seat results in detail, you can do so by viewing the Electoral Commision Web Site.

Thank you once again for all for support. We plan to provide more details and analysis of our results in the coming days.
