Thank you to all our members and supporters for your hard work and assistance during the 2008 State Election yesterday. We put in a strong showing and in some seats our primary vote has increased to over 7%, which is outstanding. So Thank you for that. As counting continues, we are still watching closely to obtain the final results. But it is very clear that after 8 years of Labour, Voters have moved their support back towards the conservative side of politics. It is also clear that the rural voters have sent a strong message that country issues cannot be ignored, regardless of how the boundaries are drawn. While it would appear that Family First has not been successful in winning any lower house seats, we are still within fighting distance in the Upper House particularly for the Agricultural Region were it is a close contest between Family First and CDP. By Monday or Tuesday we should know the final outcome for this seat and also the South West Region.
